When I first moved to Daegu several years ago I had a hard time finding anything vegetarian or vegan, but it seems to be a growing trend these days which is great for those with a plant-based lifestyle as well as the environment! The Common is a bit of a walk from downtown but offers waste-free shopping, a vegan cafe, and a community for the earth-concious.
The front of the store offers waste-free shopping alongside vegan-friendly products such as reusable straws, waste-free ingredients, and sustainble beauty products. I believe they also run community events but I don’t have any information about this, but check the bottom of the page for a link to their Instagram account.
At the back of the restaurant was the cafe, you can place your order at the counter and take a seat. We got three of the falafel sets and they were AMAZING. The falafel wasn’t too dry and came with a variety of veggies, some tasty hummus, and warm pita breads. It was a proper treat for me as I don’t get to eat this type of food often but I am determined to come back again! The falafel sets were 9800 each, which I think is a decent price for how much you get! They also had a curry on the menu as well as a selection of drinks, as well as take out options for food. Will have to pick up some hummus to take home next time 🙂
