Depending on how long you’ve been in Daegu, you may remember the dark days… where it was near imossible to get a decent lasagna without leaving the city. Okay not that dark but still, who doesn’t love a good lasagna? Nowadays, I seem to see them popping up on the menus of casual dining places all over the city. Yet, more often than not I’ve been disappointed when I’ve ordered them. Extra disappointing given how expensive they usually are too. So today I’m happy to bring you a lasagna I was pretty impressed with; while the shape was unconventional the taste was pretty good! Read on for more info.

Oeg Casual Dining is located on a little backstreet right by exit 9 of Banwoldang. To get there come out of the subway and keep walking straight. Pass the road to the right and a little further along there is a pedestrian only street tucked behind some shops. That’s where you can find Oeg!

Inside the reatsurant is modern and clean. The decor is light and airy, dotted with plants and wall hangings. They have several seating areas with wooden tables, booths, and smaller seating along the wall. It’s a perfect spot for lunch with friends, or impress a date by bringing them here. Also, fun fact! Oeg stands for Oh! Eat Great! Love that Konglish 😉

The menu offers a range of Western menu items including lasagna, a variety of pastas, and steak. The side menu has a salad, fries, and a burger? Not sure why it’s a side haha. They also have soft drinks, beers, and wines if you want to get your booze on. We ordered the lasagna and steak cos we were feeling fancy~ But just fyi the ragu burger looked SUPER good. We saw another table get it but we’d had burgers for lunch haha. We had to wait a short time for food as the restaurant was pretty busy but it wasn’t an excessive wait. It was fun to see what food the other tables got too as everything looked yummy.

Sooo onto the food! The steak was pretty good but nothing to call home about. I feel like so many places offer these steak plates nowdays and they’re often very similar. For the price this wasn’t my fave and next time I probably wouldn’t bother. Don’t get me wrong though, it tasted good! I’m just cheap and wouldn’t normally order something this expensive anywhere haha. The sides and sauces were good too, so overall I did enjoy it 🙂

The lasagna, however, I really enjoyed. It came in rolls which I thought was a pretty unique way to present it. The pasta had a good crisp, and the sauce and meat were yummy. Also enjoyed the combo with the sour cream dollops on. We 100% want to go back for the lasagna again, but next time want to do the ragu burger. Def a place I would recommend checking out!
