Hey guys! I finally got to tick another cafe off my bucket list a few weeks ago that I can’t wait to share with you! A few weeks back I met up with some old coworkers for dinner (post coming soon!) on the art and cafe street just South of Banwoldang Station. They had to leave right after we ate, it was dark and rainy and I had some time to burn before catching a train to Busan so found myself wandering the neighbourhood and thinking about dessert. Then I remembered I’d bookmarked a pudding cafe right round the corner from where I was standing, soooo off I went!

Gusam Coffee can be found just a short walk from Banwoldang exit 9, tucked away up a little side street away from the main strip of cafes and restaurants. As I said, it was pretty dark and rainy out and I almost mistook the shop front for a laundrette and missed it! But once I spotted the pudding logo I knew I’d found the right place.

I honestly LOVED the vibe and decor inside the cafe. The cafe concept is like a retro tech vibe. It feels a bit like a hang out basement room from the 90s??? Maybe? I was only 10 then and didn’t have cool friends, but I imagine this is what they would have looked like. There’s also cameras set up that show your image back on stacked TVs, or in a phone booth. Super fun for pics! There are a couple of tables in the front area, and then a couch and other table set up at the back. There was only one table free when I went which I guess attests to the popularity!

The menu does have limited drinks offers, with only a few coffees and other beverages to choose from. This was okay by me though as the main draw is the cup puddings they offer. I chose a mojito (non-alcholic) and a custard pudding and sat down to wait. The staff brought my order over for me when it was ready, so nice!

The presentation of the pudding is what makes this place unique, as they serve it in a tall glass. Perfect for pics! I also took a video (that I can’t seem to find) of the pudding’s jiggle. It was fun to wobble it around before tucking in haha. As for taste, I’m not an expert but it was delicious to me! It was sweet and creamy and a great consistency. The mojito I ordered was also fresh and tasty, although together with the pudding was a bit too much sweet for me. I would have stuck to Americano but it was already late evening. I did enjoy both though!

They also offer a pudding of the day which I didn’t try, but seems they have some pretty unique ones on offer. Take out is also available if you’re in a rush but still need your pudding fix. Go check out this unique little dessert cafe this weekend!
