Last week I was on vacation and feeling kinda fancy and boujie so decided to treat me and the bf for a faaaaaaancy meal. I’d spotted Osetria Simfull on Insta a few weeks before and had been looking for an excuse for a more expensive meal out than I normally go for, so thought what the heck let’s check it out! And I’m so glad I did because it was YAMMMMY. (Classy expression that lol).

Located a short walk from Jungangro Station, getting to Osteria Simfull takes you down Daegu’s very own shoe street(?!?!) It made for an interesting walk looking at all the fancy shoe shops on the way. 7 years and I didn’t even know we had a shoe street looool. Anyway… It’s just under 10 mins from the station, keep your eyes peeled for the restaurant because I almost walked past it I was so busy checking out all the shoes ahahhaa.

Inside the decor is very European, with cute posters all over the walls showing scenes from Italy and other places. The tables are nicely set and I loved the design on the table tops, it instantly make you feel like you’re in for a fancy time. I also loved the little bronze lamps and they made for great lighting for food pics. Also I forgot to take a picture but the knives and forks had really pretty handles too!

There are several tables and also seating at the bar, we got there early and it was empty so grabbed a table for 2. The menu advises to call ahead for tables of over 4, just fyi. The restaurant also seems to have a pretty decent bar with a selection of wines and whiskeys, nice!

The menu selection is mostly Italian inspired with a lot of pasta, pizza, risotto, and gnocchi dishes. Antipasto dishes will set you back about 14,000, Primo dishes around 18,000, and Secondo dishes there are only two options: pork steaks for 32,000 and schwein schnitzel for 20,000. I mainly came here to try the pork steaks because I had seen pics online and they looked amaaaaazing, so we got that, the melanzane, and a bacon pesto alla genovese, all to share. We also ordered a beer and a highball for drinks. They also brought out bread and oil as service, yay!

The first dish was the melanzane and it was super yummy and got us excited for what was to come. I normally hate eggplant but it was really tender and the sauce was rich and delicious. Next was the pesto pasta. The bacon was cooked perfectly with a nice bit of crunch, and pesto is a fave of mine so for me it was all a winning combo. Last came the steaks and I am soooo glad I splurged and ordered them. The meat came on the bone and was so tender. It came with a splash of pesto and mustard to dip, and honestly even though I love pesto the mustard was so so good. It also had a little side of veggies, wow!

Overall I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the food. The total price was 75,000 including the drinks, which I didn’t think was bad at all compared to some other steak places. I would definitely go back again for a special occassion or date. Also another tip! the place is operated solely by the chef, so he advises that if it is busy you will just have to wait for your food. Luckily when we went it was quiet so were served immediately, but I imagine if it was busy we could have waited a while. Honestly, it would still have been worth it though! I hope you visit and if you do, please let me know what you think!
