Hey everyone! I’m back today with another super delicious restaurant recommendation! So you probably already know that Daegu has several Indian curry spots about the city, and it’s another one of those things that gets contested often about where the best curry spot is. I’ve tried many of the restaurants in Daegu (us Brits love a good curry!) and so far Taj Mahal has got to be my personal favourite. The only downside is it’s a bit far from me, located about a 5 minute walk from Shinmae Station on the green line. However, it’s soooooo yummy so when I have time I like to make the trip over to fill up on some yummy Indian food. Keep reading to see why I keep going back to this spot!
The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building on the main street, and easy to miss if you don’t keep your eyes out! Head up the stairs to find the entrance. Once inside you can enjoy the Indian themed decor, with paintings, tradtional clothes, and statues decorating the restaurant. It’s nice to have a look around!

There’s also plenty of seating, but my favourite spot is in the little cubby hole seats next to the windows. It provides a quite, private spot, perfect for a date 😉

The menu is pretty extensive and sadly I don’t have a picture, but if you click on the Naver link above you can see the menu there. Prices are average for Indian curry here, about 14,000-15,000 for a curry and a huge selection of sides and starters at varying prices. It’s not exactly on the cheap side, but definitely worth it in my opinion.

We usually order pretty much the same thing each time, just change up the curries. We normally get a half chicken tandori (9,900), mixed pakoda (5,500), a naan basket (6,500), and two curries. The portions are decent so this is more than enough to feed two people if you’re big eaters like us hehe. The food is sooooo delicious, all I can do is say try there to find out. I’m sure that looking through the pics below is sure to get your mouth watering and planning your next trip out to Shinmae-dong!
