Hi everyone! I’m back today with a cute coffee shop not far from downtown that will be a real hit if you’re into sweet and sugary stuff! If that’s not your cup of tea don’t worry, I’ll be back later this week with more good eats and another cute coffee shop. If you ARE looking to find a spot to get your sugar fix though, keep reading!

Cotta Coffee has been a big hit on my Insta feed with Korean pages, and the vibe looked cute and the drinks inetresting so I headed there with my friend (much) earlier this year. Wow, I’m so behind with posting sorry ^^; Anywaaaaaaay, the cafe is located just south of Banwoldang, a few minutes walk from exit 9. I love this street because it has so many cute cafes and brunch spots, so def worth checking out sometime!

Inside, Cotta has a very relaxed and homely feel, with wooden interiors, rustic furniture, and scattered plants giving it a real cottagey feel. We had fun taking pics and looking around before ordering our drinks. There’s some super cute spots for Insta photos too, could even make a TikTok there? I don’t know, I think most of you will be better at that kinda stuff than me haha! But the main reason we came here was the menu and interesting drink choices. More of that below!

While I did actually forget to get a menu pic (d’oh!) I do remember what we ordered. Cotta specializes in cream coffees, and they have 3 signature menu items plus coffees, teas, and other beverages. The 3 signature items are Green Cotta (green tea cream coffee, 5,500), Gray Cotta (black sesame cream coffee, 5,500) and ssuksugaru (mugwort cream with soybean milk latte, 5,000). As such, I thought I should try one of the signature items and got a Gray Cotta, while my friend got a Butter Cream Latte (5,500) and we split a cheese cake (4,800) and butter bar (2,800).

Please note I do think the menu changes depending on the season, so except for the signature drinks some items may or may not be available. They do however have a range of desserts (including ice creams) so I don’t think you’ll be disappointed even if some of these menu items are unavailable.

So as for the drinks… I’ll be honest it wasn’t for me haha. I’m a strictly ice americano girl and generally don’t like sweet drinks, however I thought “when in Rome!” and went for it. But it was a bit too much for me, I drank about half and did enjoy it at first but it was enough sugar for me. If you don’t have a big sweet tooth stick to the standard coffees and cakes and you’ll still have a nice time. The cakes were yummy though! I would def go back for desserts but just choose a less sweet drink next time. They do make for good Insta shots though, especially the Green Cotta (which I should have ordered just for the gram lol). Overall a cute place with a decent selection of desserts, just watch out if you don’t have a sweet tooth!
