Despite living in Korea for several years, I’ve never really explored the area surrounding Camp Walker that much. However, at the end of last year some friends introduced me to Primero, a little Mexican bar and grill close to the base, and since then I’ve been a regular customer! The food is great, prices decent, and they have a fantastic drink selection to boot! Read on for more info and why you should make a journey over!
There are actually so many good reasons to visit here! The restaurant area is cosy and nicely decorated with loads of fun little quirks and decorations. It’s popular with both a Korean and foreigner crowd, and can get pretty busy too which attests to its popularity! The staff can speak English, always a bonus 🙂 And they also offer pick up as well delivery services through Shuttle if you want some yummy food at home or to take away.
Please note that the opening hours are 11-9 but they close between 3 and 4.30 for food prep, also Tuesdays are closed for a rest day, so check the opening times to avoid disappointment. Now, on to the food!
The menu offers everything you’d expect, burritos, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, and chimichangas, as well as a few sides and add ons. Over the months I’ve tried most of the menu here and haven’t had a single item I didn’t enjoy. Unfortunately, I often go hungry and eat everything before I remember to snap a pic lol. But on my last visit i got some great shots of the chicken and beef fajita dishes! Both were excellent and came with a good amount of meat, veggies, and other toppings (21,000 per plate and enough for 2 people to share). We also got a beef taco, it doesn’t look much from the pic but trust me they are YUMMY. I get at least one taco every time I visit hehe.
The last thing I want to mention about Primero, and probably one of my fave things, is the margaritas. They are only 9k and the glasses are huge, plus they’re really yummy! Also might be the reason I always forget to snap pics too because I have a few of these to start me off haha! Besides the margaritas they have a lot of other great drinks at decent prices, I always end up having a fun night when I go here. Overall Primero is a favourite of mine because of the yummy food, great drinks, good prices, and kind and friendly service. There’s no reason not to check it out!
