What are Saturdays made for if not a girls’ morning brunch? I feel a few years back it was a struggle to find a good brunch spot in Daegu, but now they’re popping up all over the place. No complaints here, guess I’ll have to get round to trying them all! But for today’s choice, I went to Illuster Table in Gamsam-dong, a short walk from Jukjeon Station (죽전역, line 2).
Illuster Table is located on the corner of several blocks of cafes and restaurants called Daegu Worldmark West End. There are so many cute cafes and restuarnts near here so it’s been a frequent spot of mine lately. Illuster Table can be spotted from the outdoor seating, it looks nice to sit outside but it was a hot day so we went in to enjoy the aircon haha.
Inside the decor is fresh and modern with some cute artwork pieces and plants. There’s several tables inside also. We went at 11 on a Saturday morning and it was fairly busy so if you come later in the day you might have to wait. Luckily it opens at 10am so perfect spot for an early brunch if you get there early! The staff spoke English (always a nice bonus) and brought us a menu, told us about the soup of the day, and asked us to order at the counter when ready. The menu choice isn’t huge but there’s a selection of sandwiches, pastas, and nice selection of drinks too!

Sorry the menu pic is a bit blurry haha! I hadn’t had my coffee yet. Anyway we ordered the Grilled Mushroom Sandwich (12,000), Apple Jambon Buerre (13,000), Nectarine Ade (5,500) and Rooibos Vanilla Tea (6,000). Not the cheapest but I think pretty aberage for brucnh in Daegu from what I’ve seen at other places too. Plus the atmosphere is super nice and I guess that’s what you pay for too haha!

To start, the drinks were suuuuper yummy. The tea smelled delicious, and the ade tasted better than the ones you get at most stores, really fresh and light. The sandwiches were also DELICIOUS! I had the Grilled Mushroom and it had bacon and cheese inside, lightly toasted on the outside. Even though it was a mushroom sandwich it wasn’t tooo mushroomy if you know what I mean (pro food blogger here). I also tried a bite of the Apple Jambon too and it was tasty! We were surprised at how big they were and left feeling really full and satisfied. Overall it was an excellent spot and I would come back again for sure. Where’s your favourite brunch spot in Daegu? Let me know!
