A couple of weeks ago I was meeting friends for dinner near Namsan Station and arrived a little early (totallt wasn’t intentional so I could scout out a cute coffee shop, no sir!). Anyway, after a quick search on Naver Dorara Coffee popped up. What immediately attracted me with the pics of cute cakes and snacks. Even though I had dinner pland I can never pass up an opportunity for cute cakes, that’s what my second stomach is for haha.
Inside was a cute and fresh vibe with a few plants dotted about, plenty of seating in the front area with two back rooms with more seating, and cute little Ghibli soot toys dotted about! The reason for the soot theme is because Dorara offers soot shaped chocolate scones that look super adorable! However, today the egg shaped cream scone had caught my eye… I was also interested in the Signature Dorara Coffee, so ordered one of each and sat to read my book on the bench across from the register.
It took a fair few minutes to make my order, and I was becoming aware that my meeting time was creeping closer, however I was determined to enjoy my coffee and cake before dinner 😂 When it came out I realised I made a huuuuge mistake, literally. The scone was huge!!!! And being in a rush I hadn’t checked what the coffee was, it was a cake in itself haha.

The scone was covered in a thick cream, and the ‘yolk’ was a peach! It was warmed up and super yummy, and luckily my friend arrived and helped me finish it off. The coffee was thick, sweet, and flavourful. It came with a spoon and he advised me to eat the cream top first and then drink the rest. Really tasty but a bad idea when we were going out for dinner right after! I don’t think I’ve ever struggled through a meal that much, but it was worth it!
