A few years back I visited Hong Kong and tried one of these bubbly kind of waffles filled with cheese from a street food stall and fell in looooove. It was so tasty and filling and the perfect street snack. My only regret was not eating more of them while I was there. I never imagined a Hong Kong themed dessert cafe would open up just a short walk from my house, but here it is!

The cafe is just outside Duryu Station, exit 6 on the main street. There is plenty of seating inside with cute Hong Kong themed decor everywhere. I especially liked the signs with all the big MTR stations, with Duryu added in the middle. Cute! The ordering is all done from the computer screen by the counter, and it has English (yay!) so no need to freak if your Korean isn’t good. We love a place where you don’t have to interact with anyone 🤣

The menu has an extensive selection of both sweet and savoury waffles including choco, caramel, cheese, and Korean classics like swete potato or corn if that’s your jam. They also offer a range of canned coffess, ades, and teas, as well as smoothies. There are also set menu options starting at 13,500 for two drinks and a waffle, and going up to 21,000 for two waffles, two drinks, and a French toast. I went for a cheese waffle (5,200) and lemon tea (5,000). My friend also got a lemon tea and an Oreo choco waffle (6,800). I also ordered a cheese one for take out to take home for bf to try 🙂

The waffles were so yummy but way more filling than we expected. We went straight after work and I thought it’d be a great snack to keep me going till dinner but I wasn’t hungry again for ages afterwards! I think if you’re going for a snack it’d be much better to share than get one each, but I love eating so no regrets hehehe. It’s definitely one to try if street snacks and coffee are your thing!
