After seeing these cute little ‘apple cakes’ on Instagram I knew I absolutely had to try this spot. I’m a sucker for a unique dessert and A.Plot certainly delivers for quirky menu items! The cafe is a short walk away from Jungangro Station Exit 3, so is an easy enough stop for a drink and cake on a shopping day in downtown. There’s a few hidden gems on this street so worth an explore to see what’s about even if Apple Cakes aren’t your cup of tea.

The cafe itself has several seating areas with a cool monochrome arsty vibe. It was pretty quiet when we went so got a chance to snap up a few pics before more people came in. If it’s not busy the table by the window is a great spot to stick your cakes on and snap if you want that really great Insta shot.
The counter has a a tablet where you can ask to see pictures of the menu items to double check what you’re getting. It was a bit confusing but we just showed him what we wanted and had no issues in the end. We ordered two of the apple cakes (6700~7500 each), an iced sherbert hibiscus tea (5000), green tea latte (5500), and I’d seen online a picture of some kind of smoky thing in a jar which turned out to be ‘Smoking Affogato’ / 스모킹아포가토 (6000).

I definitely enjoyed the showmanship of the Smoking Affogato. You can seebelow for videos of the big reveal (which we did twice and forgot to film the first time so it’s not very dramatic, oop) of the Affogato as well as a cake cutting video. The cakes actually turned out to be ice cream (!!!) which we weren’t expecting but were still delicious and again, the novelty aspect was pretty fun. Would definitely recommend checking out A.Plot if you have a thing for quirky and unique desserts!
